I recently just inherited a SEPM 12.1.3 environment and while poking around I saw that no backups were schedule to run from within the sepm console. The sem5 database is running on a sql 08 backend with a maintenance plan that does the full/diffs on a regular schedule. My question is about the best practices for backups. Is it fine to allow sql to continue to handle the database backups for sem5 or should we use the backup settings in sepm to backup locally, or both?
